We are looking for an Office Manager / HR Generalist to join our People Experience team! As our first Office Manager / HR Generalist based in the U.S., you will be responsible for being a key partner in supporting our department leaders and their team’s through office management and operations, staffing, and owning the employee experience. We are looking for a people-oriented person with strong operations instincts, communication skills and business acumen to advise and assist your internal customers. You will report directly to our Head of People Experience, who is based in Germany.  Your primary day-to-day “internal customer” will the the VP of North American Sales.

 

 This is a permanent, full-time position and to be located in our NY office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a part of building and scaling a new business team - Your primary responsibility is to be on the front lines of helping to manage/scale the explosive growth of our US office.  

  • Office management - you will be responsible for organizing all administrative activities, welcoming guests/customers, managing calendars and making sure the office runs smoothly on a daily basis.  You will also own key US business growth initiatives like opening our brand new office!

  • Recruitment coordination - you will conduct phone screens, help department leaders schedule interviews and help to manage the candidate’s experience at Staffbase

  • Employee experience - you will be responsible for organizing team activities and events, and keeping employees happy and productive!

  • Provide HR functional expertise and full generalist HR service to managers and teams as well as guidance to drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

  • Maintain and provide accurate HR information and monitor correct HR administration.

  • Work closely and maintain relationship with external partners (e.g. benefits, visa, recruiting agencies, etc.

Requirements

  • Good judgment skills to act as a trustworthy advisor for the organization

  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role within a progressive HR department.

  • Able to develop strong relationships and challenge a wide range of stakeholders within the organization.

  • Resilient, flexible, and able to cope well with change.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate within an international/multidisciplinary team and with people from different backgrounds.
